Valorant ‘Downed’ leak hints at a new game mode

Valorant data miners have found a new string in the game’s files that could belong to a new game mode. Popular Valorant dataminer and leaker, ’ValorLeaks’ revealed that there’s are some new strings added to the game and a new state has been found in the game files. A “Downed” state.

You can see the string in the syntax below.

He also revealed some more details and interpreted them from his understanding of the code.

In online games “downed” usually means that a player is knocked out after taking heavy damage and will die soon if not helped by a teammate. This is something you would usually see in battle-royale games such as Free Fire, Apex Legends, COD: Warzone, etc.

Many were speculating that the game could be getting a battle-royale game mode, but the leaker went on to say that it could be a feature for the game for some other mode. “This does not mean valorant is getting a battle royale mode, it could be a Downed but not out feature”, he said.

As you can see in the tweet, there’s also a revive string and a reviving string. These are the text strings that will show up in the game while you are close to a “downed” teammate.

According to ValorLeaks, the revive time will be 2 seconds and the reviving distance is 2 M. Going near a “downed” player you will see the “revive” option. “Reviving” will appear on the screen while you revive the downed teammate. Revived teammates will come back into the action with 50 HP.

There’s also a parameter called ‘DownedTimeLimit’ which is set at 15.0, meaning the bleed out time will probably be 15 seconds. If you don’t revive a teammate within the 15 secs after he is downed, you will not be able to revive him.

It is highly likely that the new found ‘Downed’ state is for a new game mode and not for the main competitive mode. The possibility of the new mode being a battle-royale are less, but there’s still a chance.
