Valheim update makes enemy AI more aggressive

In the latest Valheim update developer Iron Gate AB has made some tweaks to the enemy AI making the enemies more aggressive and dangerous.

Gameplay wise this patch mostly fixes AI issues, as we tried to make monsters slightly more aggressive and attack your buildings etc. When they are not able to attack you.“, says the developer in the patch notes.

Following the update, Monsters attack structures more aggressively when they are unable to attack the players. Greydwarfs now throw better.

The developers have also tweaked the fleeing behaviour of the enemy AI. The tweak will make sure that enemy AI bosses will not run away from you.

The new update also added fixes for some other issues, such as the SFX volume setting fix, the opening container fix for multiplayer, random save bug fixed(will make sure game world doesn’t corrupt after game shuts down), etc.

Moder army can trigger in mountains, Wolf event will only be triggered after Bonemass has been killed, and many more tweaks, etc. Moreover the blob event has also been enabled.

The Sweden based developer also temporarily added a buildable maypole into the game in time for midsummer. “It’s midsummer here in Sweden, so we celebrate by temporarily making the Maypole buildable.“, said the developer in the patch notes.
