Team Vitality teases its entry into the Indian Esports scene

It is official, Team Vitality is finally here in India. One of the most well known esports organizations from France, Team Vitality will be entering the Indian esports scene soon.

“Bonjour India” the post reads, while the Team Vitality logo transforms into hands in a way that they represent the sign for ‘namaste’. ‘Bonjour’ is a french word translating to ‘Hello’, which also means ‘Namaste’ in Hindi.

“Welcome to the official home of Team Vitality India, stay tuned for the best in esports and more.” The caption reads, confirming that the organization wants to step its foot into the Indian esports.

They have also created a new official regional Instagram handle ‘@teamvitality_india’.

Team Vitality had teased their plan to come to India back in 2019 when Florent ‘ElChikito‘ Gutierrez a.k.a ‘Flo’ the CMO of Team Vitality publicly said “We are coming to India”, on a live stream of an Indian content creator ‘The RawKnee’.

In conversation with The Esports Journal, Team Vitality CEO Nicolas Maurer explained why the organization is looking to expand in India. Nicolas Maurer said, “We are totally convinced that there’s a lot of potential in India, because there is a very big interest, not only in esports, but in gaming. A lot of people are very passionate there, but it’s hard to predict the time it takes for a European brand to be seen as legitimate to an Indian audience.” (Source: The Esports Journal – Edition 4, Feb 2020)

International esports organizations like TSM(Team SoloMid), FNATIC, Noble Esports, GalaxyRacer & Nova Esports have been part of the Indian Esports before, and now Team Vitality wants to enter the Indian Esports scene too.

While a major part of Indian esports community, especially the organizations that were primarily involved in PUBG Mobile esports have not been able to recover from the PUBG Mobile ban, the entry of Team Vitality has surely grabbed everyone’s attention.

Vitality is a well established organization that has teams across multiple esports such as CSGO, League of Legends, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, and more.

Esports title(s) for which Vitality will be competing is still unknown. It probably could be either Valorant or COD Mobile, or maybe even Wild Rift. We will just have to wait for the announcement.
