Sony has now officially sold 10 Million PlayStation 5 consoles worldwide. PlayStation shared the news via a blog post on the SIE website.

“We are thrilled to announce that as of July 18th, 2021, we have sold more than 10 million PlayStation 5 consoles globally.“
says Sony in the announcement post.
The console launched back in November 2020 and now after 9 months it has become the fastest selling console for SIE(Sony Interactive Entertainment) till date.
The number definitely would’ve been even bigger if the consoles were in stock and the production hadn’t been affected due to the global semiconductor chip shortage throughout COVID pandemic. Still, it’s a great achievement nonetheless.
If the semiconductor shortage ends by next year, it could be a really great year for Sony. With games like God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West and coming out next year, the PS5 console could see even more sales.

Currently the demand for the console is way more than the supply, due to which the customers are suffering while scalpers are benefitting a lot.
PlayStation 5 is a powerful console that provides a rich gaming experience with its faster load times and graphics capability to run games at high setting with a high framerate. It’s a quite big upgrade over the older PlayStation 4. And features such as the haptic feedback and trigger resistance on the PS5’s DualSense controllers, are just a cherry on top.
