Raven Software is still working on Call of Duty: Warzone upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

It has been while since the “next-gen” consoles i.e. PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X launched. Warzone players have been playing the game on these newer consoles through backwards compatibility.

During a recent press briefing about Season 3 of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, Amos Hodge, Creative Director at Raven Software spoke to Charlie Intel about the game and the update patch for PlayStation and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Hodge told Charlie Intel that Raven has a “dedicated technology team” within the studio working specifically on Call of Duty: Warzone’s engine and technology for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

The update will improve game load times as the engine will be able to better use the SSD storage in the newer consoles. The update might even boost FPS, refresh rate and improve visual quality.

The studio apparently is also considering adding FOV Slider to consoles. So you can expect the FOV Slider to also be added to consoles in the future.

No dates or approximate windows were provided by Raven Software for the release so we don’t know exactly when the update will roll out. Let’s just hope it rolls out soon.
