Qualcomm to host its first esports tournament in India for Free Fire players with a prize pool of 5,000,000 INR ($67,323)

Multinational corporation Qualcomm Incorporated is entering the esports scene, and the starting point is India. Recently Qualcomm, a wireless technology company headquartered in San Diego, announced their first esports tournament in India with a grand prize pool of $67,323 or 50,00,000 INR.

The Indian gaming community is eagerly looking forward to this Qualcomm Snapdragon Conquest Tournament. Also, the tournament will be a win-win situation for both India and Qualcomm. Indians will assuredly get a lot of exposure and the opportunity to win huge prize money in this Garena Free Fire tournament

On the other hand, it will help Qualcomm penetrate more in the world’s largest smartphone market (because they are in the business of manufacturing chipsets for Android mobiles). The Indian gaming community is also skyrocketing.

It will divide the tournament into multiple titles and a team of four members each, and it will run throughout the year. Also, it will be broadcasted live, and the participants can also broadcast the tournament.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon Conquest Tournament will be FREE to participate in. However, Qualcomm has not announced any official tournament dates yet, but you can register now.

Rajen Vagadia (Vice President of Qualcomm India Private Limited and President Qualcomm India & SAARC) commented on the thriving Indian gaming industry and gaming opportunities.

“India is a mobile-first industry. The phenomenal rise of mobile gaming in India is driving not just the demand for better devices in the industry but also the need for a richer ecosystem and more diverse opportunities for mobile gamers.”

Commenting on the brand and Qualcomm ecosystem, he further said

“The Snapdragon brand is known for delivering superior gaming experiences. Our work with the larger ecosystem of OEMs, game developers, and publishers, is helping us learn and provide an upgraded gaming experience across multiple price tiers. We are really excited about the launch of Snapdragon Conquest, our new gaming program. With Snapdragon Conquest, we are creating a community that challenges the competitive skills of gamers, allowing us a deeper understanding of the gaming needs of all our users in India.”

Undoubtedly, we can expect new tournaments and esports events in the upcoming years. Also, the tournament will give a new opportunity to Indian gamers. This time Garena Freefire partnered with Qualcomm, but we can also expect independent events or tournaments with the newly revisiting games like PUBG.

This also indicates the growing gaming community in India.
