Fans are unhappy with the new Prince of Persia remake

Ubisoft revealed the trailer of ‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake’ at the Ubisoft Forward Live event. Prince of Persia was Ubisoft’s one of the most popular franchise back in the day. With time Ubisoft moved onto projects like Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy, and a franchise loved by millions was left behind.

Now, after 17 years, fans will finally be able to revisit the ‘Sands of Time’ through the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, a game developed by India’s Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune.

The fans of the franchise have long been waiting for a new Prince of Persia game. But what they got in the form of a reveal trailer, was something else altogether. Instead of being happy, fans have very different feelings about the game, and we’re sure, after watching the trailer, you will too.

The game is being built on the Anvil engine, the one which was used for Assassin’s Creed Origins. But unfortunately, the game’s visuals are nothing like AC Origins.

The visuals of the game are just not up to par. The game doesn’t look like a current generation game. The graphics and visuals make the game look like a previous generation game that is nowhere near the current generation games.

Here are some random reactions of fans via Twitter,

But there still are some who are fine with the visuals and are just interested in playing the game.

Still, the big talking point is, who will pay $39.99 or more for a game with mediocre graphics and visuals?

Ubisoft is yet to make any statement on the matter, but with all this backlash, will Ubisoft try to improve the quality of the game in order to repair the damage done?

We’ve seen the power of fans force the CGI team of Sonic the Hedgehog movie to rework on the CGI aspects of the entire movie. With enough fans publicly asking for a rework, there’s a chance that it might force Ubisoft to postpone the release and work on the quality of graphics.
