Multiple Assassin’s Creed adaptations coming to Netflix, including a live-action show

Ubisoft has made an interesting announcement in a blogpost. It has been announced that multiple different series based on the Assassin’s Creed franchise will be coming to Netflix.

Netflix yesterday announced on Twitter that a series based on the popular Assassin’s Creed franchise will be coming to the streaming service.

The teaser tweet shows a modified Asassin’s Creed logo with the Netflix ‘N’ logo in between and a familiar music in background.

 “For more than 10 years, millions of fans around the world have helped shape the Assassin’s Creed brand into an iconic franchise,” said Jason Altman, Head of Ubisoft Film & Television – Los Angeles in a blogpost, reminding the fans how old yet still new the franchise is.

He further added, “We’re thrilled to create an Assassin’s Creed series with Netflix, and we look forward to developing the next saga in the Assassin’s Creed universe.”

A new live-action genre-bendingseries will be coming to the Netflix platform. The deals between Ubisoft and Netflix comprises of multiple different series, anime and animated adaptations and a live-action series. Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will be the executive producers for the live-action series.

The Assassin’s Creed series was adapted in a Hollywood movie directed by Justin Kurzel and starring Michael Fassbender back in 2016 but turned out to be a big flop.

Assassin’s Creed will now be the next major game to be adapted after massive success of The Witcher adaptation and the Resident Evil adaptation that it yet to be released. A ‘Beyond Good & Evil’ movie is said to be in development too. Ubisoft is also working on making more cinematic adaptations of its other games.

No details about the storyline, cast or release date for the Assassin’s Creed series have been revealed yet.
