Logitech G Pro X vs HyperX Cloud Alpha S – A tough fight but a clear winner

If you are torn between these two premium gaming headsets then you have come to the right place. Let’s help you choose the best gaming headset according to your specific requirements.

Comfort

The G Pro X comes with two ear-cup options – Foam & Leather. Gamers who clock long gaming sessions would love the G Pro X for its comfortable & snuggly grip around the ears. Big head, small head or flat head the hinges are flexible enough to cover all types. On the other hand the Cloud Alpha S looks sturdy and very durable with its solid metal hinges and thick plastic body. The ear-cups are softer & deeper than the G Pro X which means that noise cancellation is better on Cloud Alpha S with more comfort around the ears.

Design

On the look of it a nice mix of leather on the head band & aluminium connecting the ear pieces gives Cloud Alpha S a better form factor but when you look at both of them closely, you will notice the matte finish on top of the ear pieces of the G Pro X look more premium and edgy. The telephone cord wires connecting the earpieces to the head band on the G Pro X gives it a very industrial look and is subject to an individual’s choice but we really liked it. Both headsets sport a flexible detachable mic.

Sound Quality

The sound quality on the G Pro X is pretty accurate. We tested it while playing PUBG on iPad Pro. Some users might feel the need for more bass. On the other hand, bass vents prove to be quite effective on the Cloud Alpha S but I would recommend to use these headphones with bass vents closed for more accurate in game sound experience. I particularly found the vocals to be slightly less clear in the Cloud Alpha S. While talking to my team during many PUBG matches, I felt their vocals muffled and that didn’t go away by adjusting the volume. The microphone of both headsets offer superior audio, whether in game or on Zoom calls. I have a moderately deep voice quality and no one whom I interacted with faced any difficulty at all listening to me.

Our Verdict

Logitech G Pro X is a clear winner here. The level of comfort is slightly less than the Hyper X Cloud Alpha S but takes away the trophy because of a better design and superior sound quality.
