Left 4 Dead 2 crossover event is back in Dying Light

The Left 4 Dead 2 and Dying Light crossover event is back again. Developer Techland Games announced in a blogpost recently that they are bringing back the ‘Left 4 Dead 2’ crossover event to Dying Light.

“Get ready for zombie madness, as we’re bringing the Left 4 Dead 2 crossover event back.”, says Techland in the announcement.

“Face hordes of enraged zombies in this extremely challenging game mode, and try to survive.”

The update introduced a special Viral Rush event where you can experience the Left 4 Dead gameplay in the open-world of Dying Light. Also, a new type of shotgun ammo has been added to the game. The ammo sets the hordes of infected ablaze with a “taste of fire and brimstone”.

The Viral Rush event can be turned off in the option menu, so if you get tired of facing the endless hordes of zombies, you know what to do.

The event introduces Bill as a playable character and Gnome Chompski, the iconic garden gnome from Half-Life 2: Episode Two and Left 4 Dead 2 as a two-handed weapon.

Dying Light is a 2015 game that is still alive with a good amount of players returning everytime a new free or paid DLC is introduced. Techland has a dedicated team working on the content DLCs for Dying Light 1 while the main team works on Dying Light 2.

The sequel to Dying Light was announced at E3 in 2018 and the game was expected to be released this year, but then delayed indefinitely. There is no new confirmed release date for the sequel. All we know is that the developers are working on the new sequel and it is speculated to release sometime in 2021.

The Left 4 Dead 2 crossover event is was available from October 27 to October 29. For those who play on console, the DLC will arrive a few weeks later, according to the blogpost. So if you are a console player you will have two either play it on PC or wait a couple of weeks for the console release.

So even if you miss the event on PC, you will still be able to play it on console in couple of weeks.

Also, Techland has confirmed that both Bill and Gnome Chompski aren’t limited-time rewards, meaning if you login during the event you’ll be able to keep the rewards even after the event.
