Indian Government has plans to provide jobs in the online gaming field

The Union Education Minister of India, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said, they’re planning to organize a hackathon soon for students of higher education institutions through innovation in toy technology and design. This will also include online games and focus will be on reflecting the Indian ethos and values through technology and design.

Toy and puppet making skills will be developed among school students. It will be introduced as a theme of ‘Kala Utsav’, which will encourage students to explore and develop various local toys.

Talking about employment possibilities in the toy industry and online gaming, the Union Minister said: As PM Narendra Modi has said that the need of the hour is to make India self-reliant and the toy industry has a huge potential, he wants the youth to tap into it.

PM Modi has also expressed his views on game development, and wants the Indian game studios and developers to develop games that show the Indian culture and folk tales.

The government is making a lot of moves to provide employment and quality education to the youth under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-reliant India) & ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ campaigns.

It is interesting to see the government understand the scope in the field of gaming. Also, many constructive changes were introduced in the Indian education system this year under the new education policy. This might help to relieve the study pressure on the younger generations. With support from the Education Ministry and the government we might someday even see the introduction of collegiate esports in all the universities and educational institutes.
