Halloween Haunting in Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone

Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone has received some spooky haunting content in time for Halloween. The company posted a trailer for ‘The Haunting of Verdansk’, introducing the new event added to the game.

The Haunting of Verdansk is a limited-time Halloween event for Call of Duty : Modern Warfare and Warzone. The event has begun and will be running till November 3.

The event is packed with frights as you’ll be able to experience a zombie mode, a night map and more. The event also introduce some haunting elements from popular horror movies. The Haunting of Verdansk is a first-ever Halloween event for the two games featuring the ‘SAW’ and ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ universes.

Here’s a look at all the new additions to the game in ‘The Haunting of Verdansk’ limited-time event

Zombie Royale:

The event features a Zombie Royale, a twist to the traditional Warzone battle royale. A mode where the “dead Operators use their unnatural powers to feast on the living”.

After dying in the Warzone battle royale, instead of being sent to the Gulag, Operators will become zombies. Then the dead operators(zombies) will have to try to get back to the “land of the living”. Every player after dying will drop a syringe that will be visible on the map. As a zombie you will have to pick up two of these syringes. Collecting two syringes will give you a second chance by parachuting you in with your loadout on your Squad.

The event also introduces two new game modes for Modern Warfare multiplayer.

Onslaughter:

Onslaughter is a mode where you and your squad will have to fight for the control of the Juggernaut suit that spawns somewhere on the map. The goal is to take control of the suit and take it to a specific location on the map.

Snipers Only: 

Snipers only is a Team Deathmatch mode where all operators will have 5 different pre-built loadouts instead of custom ones. The rule is simple, the squad that reaches the target score first wins.

Trick or Treat rewards in Warzone:

The Halloween event has introduced a “Trick or Treat” reward system where you will find supply boxes scattered across the map. The supply boxes either contain a fright/jump scare or blueprints or some personalization items.

Night Map: You can experience a night time variant of Verdansk that has even more frights. Although it’s not completely dark you still would want to have thermal optics in your loadout so that you will be able to spot enemies easier in the dark.

‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ and the ‘SAW’ universe features are definitely the talking point here. Pushing a haunting update certainly attracts a lot of eyeballs to the game. This is just perfect timing for the Call of Duty games with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War coming to next-gen consoles next month on November 13.
