GTA Online will continue supporting solo player content
In an interview with GQ, Scott Butchard, the design director at Rockstar talked about the GTA Online Cayo Perico Heist update & solo player content. In case you didn’t know, Cayo Perico Heist can also be played without friends, as solo. Butchard explained that allowing the players to complete the mission solo has been on the minds of the developers. “The community has been vocal about it[solo player content]”, said Butchard. He further added, ”It’s something we’re keen to carry forward”.
Doing a heist mission solo can be difficult, and sometimes less fun. Imagine having to do everything by yourself, all alone. From preparing for the heist, successfully pulling it off. From sneaking in, to looting/destroying the entire area.
Still, the developers want to keep the option open for all those lone wolves who prefer doing things alone & in their own style. Also, if a player completes a heist mission by himself, he doesn’t have to split the money earned with other players. He can keep it all to himself.
“We want to respect teams and players who want to play co-op. But at the same time still allow solo players to still get just as valid an experience out of it.“, Butchard said.
With all the Cyberpunk 2077 hype, the Cayo Perico content update went under everyone’s radar. The Cayo Perico heist is a really good content update and the developers deserve more appreciation for releasing the “most ambitious” & the biggest GTA Online heist update, while working from home.
It is definitely a good news that the developers are respecting the solo players and are ready to develop solo player content to allows players to enjoy a similar experience by themselves.
