God of War: Ragnarok delay reason revealed by Kratos voice actor

As you all know, God of War: Ragnarok has been pushed to next year. Today the reason for the same has been revealed. The voice actor for Kratos, Christopher Judge today revealed the reason in a tweet. “To the beloved fandom, Ragnarok was delayed because of me.“, he said in the tweet.

He explained that in August 2019 he had to undergo surgery which caused the delay.

August 2019, I couldn’t walk. Had to have back surgery, both hips replaced, and, knee surgery. They waited for me too

He also mentioned how the guys at Santa Monica were supportive and waited for him to undergo rehabilitation after the surgery.

The fans of the franchise replied with positive tweets making the whole conversation wholesome.

Back in June, Sony Santa Monica cited “safety and wellbeing” as the reason for the delay. Since Sony Santa Monica wasn’t very clear about the exact reason, one can assume that it was about Christopher Judge.

Judge also revealed that he decided he would quit after he was told that Barlog wouldn’t be directing the sequel. Barlog took the role of creative director and the responsibility to direct the game was passed on to Eric Williams, who also is a God of War veteran. “Eric is a beast” Barlog told Judge. And so does Judge say he is in one of his tweets.

God of War: Ragnarok is the upcoming entry in the series and will probably be the last of the series to focus on Norse mythology. Future installments will have different lore.
