Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 update: Zero Point, Mandalorian skin and more
Fortnite’s season 5 update is here. The new season for Fortnite includes a new battle pass, map changes, new character skins and much more. For all the Star Wars & Mandalorian fans out there, Season 5 also has a Mandalorian character skin.
Season 5 picks up right where Season 4 finished. Despite successfully defeating Galactus, Zero Point has been exposed. The story is continued in Season 5, and what happens next is shown in the Season 5 trailer.
The new season brings a lot of content and changes to Fortnite, here’s some of them.
Battle Pass:
The new battle pass includes content from Star Wars The Mandalorian, The Mando skin, Amban Sniper Rifle and more. Completing 100 levels of the Battle Pass will unlock Baby Yoda.
There’s non- Star Wars content as well, for instance character skins like Mancake, Lexa, Menace and more.
New Weapons:
The new update also introduces new weapons like Mandalorian’s Amban Sniper Rifle, Dragon’s Breath Shotgun, Night Hawk & more. The Mandalorian’s Amban Sniper Rifle will likely be one of the main attractions as it allows the player to switch between melee & ranged.
“Hunters and vendors are also working to bring you more weapons throughout the season, so keep an eye out!“, says the blog post, meaning there’s more items coming to Season 5 soon.
New Locations:
An image in the blog post shows the Zero Point floating mid-air and sand all around, giving the location a desert like look. Don’t worry, there are big rock-like objects to take cover under.
“Battle for honor in an ancient arena, sharpen your survival skills in the jungle, and explore the shifting crystalline sands flowing from the exposed Zero Point.”, says the blog post. Ancient Arena & Jungle are some of the new locations in the map.
Bounties:
The game now has NPCs that offer you a bounty for eliminating a target, which is another player. Once the bounty starts, the player will be given the name and avatar of their target. A yellow circle appears on the minimap as well as the main map which shows the area where the target is. The circle mark updates as the target moves to other parts of the map. The player gets upto 6 minutes to find and eliminate the target.
Players can find these NPCs at various locations around the map. Also, just like you are hunting your target, you might be someone’s target too. So, make sure to stay aware at all times. Completing the bounties will reward players with gold bars.
Talking about bars, “what are bars?” you might ask.
Bars:
It is a new form of in-game currency that players can use to buy the newly introduced characters. Bars can be spent on new weapons, upgrades, intel, services, etc as well. Bars can be earned by eliminating players, completing quests and bounties, finding hidden stashes, etc. It is important for you to know that bars are not a paid currency.
Looks like the Fortnite devs might soon add even more characters to the game, maybe during this season, as the blog post states “Agent Jones will bring in even more hunters from the realities beyond.”
