“For Esports to turn into a professional sport, there should be avenues for people to learn and earn” – Dhiman Kashyap, CEO, Resilience Esports

We recently had a chat with Dhiman Kashyap, Co-Founder & CEO of Resilience Esports where we discussed the goals of Resilience Esports, its plans, profitability in esports, and more.

The Gaming Reporter – What is Resilience Esports? What’s the motive behind it and how did it come into existence?

Dhiman Kashyap  Resilience Esports is an esports-oriented organization/company from the North East region of India. We are currently focused on competitive as well as content creation and management within the esports region. The idea behind this project is very simple which is to create a better environment and opportunities for the people of India in Esports and this idea manifested as a culmination of gamers who wanted to take gaming seriously. It is as simple as turning your hobbies into a profession in an organized and systematic method.

TGR – One of the primary goals of Resilience Esports is to “make esports a more regular option as a professional sport”. How does the organization plan to make it happen?

DK  For an idea to become a part of reality, we believe that proper & realistic planning is necessary. For Esports to turn into a professional sport, there should be avenues for people to learn and earn from the whole process. With proper knowledge and facilities, players can train themselves to reach the zenith along with proper methods to financially make it sustainable. We are taking steps for a better infrastructure so that players/ teams can perform and brands, companies, organizations along the audience can support in this process. We shall soon be announcing some of the infrastructures so that we can start the process early.

TGR – Resilience Esports is partnered with various gaming & tech brands. How does that come into play with its operations?

DK  As our Company is partnered with gaming and tech brands, there can be mutual benefits in terms of monetary and non-monetary where we can promote the products & peripherals as required. We also push the esports scenario in this process such as hosting events and campaigns as we have around 3.5 Billion plus impressions monthly. Being connected with 30+ brands gives us the option and versatility to meet the specific requirements of the brand, esports enthusiasts, and audience where we can manage & orient the partnership to make some constructive outcomes for esports in general.

TGR – What are your thoughts on profitability in esports, especially taking the Indian market into account which has a large consumer base, but a low purchasing power?

DK  This is a query that has been discussed within our management for a rigorous amount of time and we are still developing the correct answer for it. But there is another question for this argument where in-game currencies are being purchased in a high amount in India, which suggests that the audience members are engaging themselves in such transactions even though the amount may be marginal. So because of the high population and high engagement in esports, India has huge potential for a profitable outcome because esports will be the next big thing in the world. The main question depends on the management of this potential and huge human resource which will yield a high profit for the nation.

Team Resilience Esports

TGR – How many esports teams & content creators are signed with Resilience Esports? How does Resilience Esports help them grow?

DK  350 + exclusive as well as non-exclusive and increasing as we speak making it the largest content creators program in India. Among them, more than 10-15 Esports teams and their content creators are also working with us on a non-exclusive basis. Since we are partnered with brands and companies, we take the initiative of developing the ecosystem with events such as competitive tournaments with prize pools, informative and educative talk shows, providing better visibility and recognition to the teams & players who are partnered with us. When we are discussing in terms of gaming in India, monetary support is a major factor that is required in esports, so our primary focus is to make a better and efficient flow of capital in this industry so that we can have self-sufficient platforms to develop it internally.

TGR – How can other creators become a part of Resilience Esports? What are the perks of being a signed creator? (Also talk about the deliverables on the creator’s part, if possible)

DK  The process for joining is simple but there are certain criteria that we look upon when we proceed. The primary factors include the viewership and work ethics of the creator along with enthusiasm and interest for the task. We also look for a positive attitude from the creators as it helps us to create synergies with them. For the perks, our aim is to provide opportunities to the creators that help them grow and receive monetary & non-monetary benefits. We are constantly working to develop the scenario of content creation in India and the journey so far has been wonderful. We have partnered with some big European companies that share the same ideas as us and are working with us to make this better and bigger.

TGR – Tell us about the organization’s plans for esports & its content creators.

DK  The aim of Resilience Esports as a whole is to develop a healthy environment for Esports to grow in India. So just as any other sport, this whole journey includes proper facilities & infrastructure for Athletes, a systematic and organized system operating at its peak, a positive mindset of the people involved, and the good wishes of the audience. We are planning to make an accommodation for players and creators under one roof so that the learning and growth are mutual along with fostering teams for certain Esport games where they can compete on an international level. Also, there are certain steps for educating the youth about the negative side of Esports and how it can be harmful to their health if the balance is not maintained. For the general public, we are also developing some really interesting ideas about how they can enjoy Esports in a casual way with immersive experiences and a lot of different AI programmed IPs. We shall be announcing these ideas once we have the proper plan and execution for them. Till then, do continue to support us and be a part of this development phase of Esports in India.
