FIFA 22 release date revealed, additional details you should know

The release date for FIFA 22 has been revealed along with the game’s official trailer. The “game-changing” reveal trailer premiered yesterday on the ‘EA Sports FIFA‘ YouTube channel.

The game comes in 2 different editions, an Ultimate Edition and a Standard Edition. Those purchase the Ultimate Edition will get 4 days Early Access to the game. This essentially means will be able to play the game 4 days before the official launch of standard edition.

Comparison (Ultimate Edition vs Standard Edition)

The Standard Edition is set to release on October 1st and the Ultimate Edition’s early access will begin 4 days before it on September 27. Pre-orders for the game are now live on various platforms. The Standard Edition costs INR 2,999 while the Ultimate Edition costs INR 4,299. Also, the FIFA 22 Ultimate Edition is apparently only available digitally.

As you can see in the above image, those that own the Ultimate Edition will get unspecified FUT Heroes Player item for a limited time, an Ones to Watch Player item, 4600 FIFA Points and as earlier mentioned ,the 4 days early access.

Dual Entitlement:

Those that pre-order FIFA 22 Ultimate Edition, will be entitled to a upgrade to the current-gen console version i.e. either PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S to Xbox One at no additional cost.

Also, only selective progress will transfer over between consoles in case you play on two different console version, for instance the PS4 & PS5 or the Xbox Series X|S & Xbox One. You should check out the full FAQs section for Dual Entitlement before purchase.

The official cover features Kylian Mbappé

The official FIFA account on Twitter also revealed the cover for the game a few days ago and yes it is. The cover for FIFA 22 features Kylian Mbappé, who was also featured last year on the cover of FIFA 21.

Mistakes:

A Twitter account ‘@AllFifaMistakes’ is known for pointing out all the mistakes and problems with the various iterations of FIFA games and has already found 2 mistakes in FIFA 22.

Fan reaction so far:

Fans aren’t happy with the trailer and are skeptical if the game has to offer anything different than just the “HyperMotion” technology. The sentiment is mostly negative with the trailer so far. We might get a better idea about what else the game has to offer as move closer to the launch date.
