DOTA 2’s The International 10 will feature the largest prize pool ever

The DOTA 2 TI10 will feature the largest ever prize pool in the history of esports for a single event with more than $34,343,651(at the time of writing) in prize money.

With $1,600,000 contributed by Valve and $32,730,068 crowdfunded through the sales of battlepass, battle pass levels and other cosmetics.

The prize pool for TI10 has already surpassed the record breaking prize pool of TI9 which was at $34,333,068.

The TI prize pool is crowdfunded as 25% of the revenue from all the battlepass, battle pass levels and other cosmetic items featured in battlepass is added to the prize pool.

The TI10 prize pool might increase even more as the battlepass is yet to expire(will expire on 19 September 2020).

TI7                              $24,787,916

TI6                              $20,770,460

What is TI?

The DOTA 2 TI is the biggest event of the year, an annual premier esports event hosted by Valve, the publishers of DOTA 2.

The first TI i.e. TI1 was held in 2011, and this year’s TI, the TI10 was supposed to be held in 2020, but due to the pandemic it is still uncertain if the event will be held this year or postponed.
