‘Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition’ will come with multiple performance modes on the next-gen consoles

As you might already know, ‘Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition’ will soon be launching on next-gen consoles. An interesting reveal has come to light after a Capcom representative posted online about the game’s graphical performance.

According to the Capcom representative, the game will have multiple performance modes for users to choose from. Users can either pick a higher resolution and play at 30/60 FPS or lower the resolution to enjoy high framerate upto 120 fps.

“Having checked with our DMC hype man Matt Walker, I can confirm that DMC5:SE will support 4K@60fps when RT is turned off.”, said ‘WBacon’ on resetera, a video game forum.

‘WBacon’ is the verified resetra account of a user who works at Capcom California. WBacon is William Yagi-Bacon, the VP of Digital Platforms and Marketing at Capcom.

Here are the modes confirmed for the game by WBacon,

  • 4K/30fps with Ray Tracing ON
  • 1080p/60fps with Ray Tracing ON
  • 4K/60fps with Ray Tracing OFF
  • Up to 120fps with Ray Tracing OFF

Players that prefer higher quality shadows, reflections and better lightning would prefer to keep ray tracing on to maximize the visual quality. They can opt for a 4K resolution with upto 30 FPS with ray tracing on or go for a 60FPS mode with 1080p also with ray tracing on.

Players that want a little bit of both a better framerate and a smoother performance can go for 4K resolution with 60 FPS with ray tracing off. There’s also a mode that will take your framerate as high as 120 FPS with ray tracing on, but the resolution might drop quite low in the mode to support such a framerate.

WBacon further added, “Expect previews/reviews in the coming weeks. We’re only three weeks away from launch!” That’s another good news, the game is launching soon.

When asked about the PC Vergil DLC and its release date, WBacon didn’t say much except that more information will be made public “in the coming weeks”.

When another user asked, “Are we getting any option to pre-order Vergil DLC for PS4/XB1?”

WBacon replied “It should go live straight up when ready. No dates yet. ”

Vergil is a paid DLC for the base game ‘Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition’, Vergil is the twin brother of Dante and the main antagonist in multiple games of the franchise. Dante and Vergil separate ways after the death of their mother Eva. The DLC will introduce Vergil as a playable character.

‘Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition’ will launch on day 1 for both the next-gen consoles, meaning for Xbox Series X on November 10 and for PlayStation 5 on November 12.
