Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer could still be in the works suggest data miner

Now it has been 11 months since Cyberpunk 2077 first launched. In the recent version 1.3 update, the developer introduced cosmetics DLC, bug fixes, and more quality of life updates.

Tyler McVicker, a popular data miner recently posted a video that talks about the version 1.3 update and data mined multiplayer leaks. (Thanks: VGC)

After data mining version 1.3 of Cyberpunk 2077, it has been revealed that the executable file has multiplayer states linked to it in which the game can launch into. You can see them in the below image.

Apparently, the multiplayer-related files were named with the prefix “CPL“. These files since the 1.3 patch are now listed as “MultiplayerOld“.

As McVicker mentioned in the video, 2 expansion packs and a multiplayer framework could be coming to the game.

Although Cyberpunk 2077 had canceled the plans of a multiplayer as revealed in March 2021, what this suggests is that CDPR could still have plans to add a multiplayer to the game in the future.

This also comes in line with CDPR’s commitment to making Cyberpunk 2077 what they had initially promised and hence repairing/regaining the reputation that has been lost.
