Cyberpunk 2077 getting back on the PlayStation Store will be exclusive decision of Sony

It has been almost a year since Cyberpunk 2077 was delisted from the PlayStation Store back in December 2020 for due to its poor performance on the PlayStation consoles. In an recent shareholders meeting the CDPR management was asked about an update on its discussions with Sony to bring Cyberpunk 2077 back on the PlayStation Store.

Adam Kiciński, President / Joint CEO at CD PROJEKT said “Unfortunately, I have no new information in this regard,” through a translator. “We are still in discussions and with every patch the game gets better and there is a visible progress, but as we said the decision is an exclusive decision of Sony, so we are waiting for the information about the fact that they took the decision to bring back this game. Until then I am not able to tell you anything more.” (Source: VGC)

Cyberpunk 2077 might be one of the most buggiest AAA games launched in recent time but with CD Projekt Red working on various patches for the game, the situation looks to have improved.

Michal Nowakowski, SVP of Business Development, CD Projekt Red, believes that with every patch released for Cyberpunk 2077, the game gets one step closer to getting back on the Storefront. Back in March, he said that the final decision on whether to bring the game back on the PlayStation Store lies entirely with Sony.

In April, in an interview with Reuters, Adam Kiciński, President / Joint CEO at CD PROJEKT talked about the company’s plan to improve the game.

During the interview, Adam Kiciński said, “I don’t see an option to shelve Cyberpunk 2077. We are convinced that we can bring the game to such a state that we can be proud of it and therefore successfully sell it for years to come”. This statement suggest that fixing the game is one of CDPR’s top priorities right now.

Cyberpunk 2077’s removal from the PlayStation Store hugely impacted the game’s sales and CDPR is working hard to bring back the title on the PlayStation Store. If and when the game will return to the PlayStation Store still remains a question, and from the look of things the ball pretty much lies in Sony’s court.
