Amazon’s upcoming MMO ‘New World’ delayed to August 2021

Amazon’s upcoming MMO game ‘New World’ has been delayed to August 2021. First scheduled for Spring 2021, the game now has been delayed as the development team needs more time to work on the game’s some end game features.

In a development update blog post, it was revealed that the game’s launch has been delayed to August 31, 2021.

We’ve been hard at work on compelling end-game features we believe are important to include at launch. These features won’t be ready for the Spring timeframe that we had communicated.”, says the blog post.

The developers will take this time to work on and “tune & polish” some of the game’s important features. The developer also talked about some new content for the game which will be introduced during the closed beta.

EBONSCALE REACH: A new end-game zone filled with lush wetlands and greenery.

EXPEDITIONS: a 5 player instanced adventure PvE mode which focuses on exploration. Be ready to face some big challenges as this mode will require coordination between the players to fight the enemies.

OUTPOST RUSH: A 20v20 team battle where you fight for the control of strongholds and “strategic resources”. It looks like this game mode will focus a lot on player to player coordination, developing strategies and teamplay.

It was also revealed that the closed beta for the game will go live on July 20, 2021. Those that have pre-ordered the game will have access to the closed beta.

Nobody likes delays, nobody wants delays, but it is the right thing to do. We all have the big example of Cyberpunk 2077 launch. Delaying the game is the right thing to do when the deadlines don’t meet. Launching an unfinished and unpolished game is not the way to go.
