Activision Blizzard has been sued by California over alleged sexual harassment
Video game company Activision Blizzard is under fire for fostering “Frat Boy” culture, constant sexual harassment of female employees & discrimination against women.

California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) has filed a lawsuit against Activision Blizzard on Tuesday claiming that the company has created a culture of constant sexual harassment, gender bias and discrimination against women. Also, apparently many top executives were aware of/ involved in the matter.
The lawsuit document talks about Activision’s pervasive “frat boy” workplace culture and how women are subjected to “cube crawls”.
“Defendants have fostered a pervasive “frat boy” workplace culture that continues to thrive. In the office, women are subjected to “cube crawls” in which male employees drink copious amounts of alcohol as they “crawl” their way through various cubicles in the office and often engage in inappropriate behavior toward female employees. Male employees proudly come into work hungover, play video games for long periods of time during work while delegating their responsibilities to female employees, engage in banter about their sexual encounters, talk openly about female bodies, and joke about rape.“, states the lawsuit document.
The document also has mention of a tragic event. A female employee at Activision committed suicide while on a business trip due to a sexual relationship she had been having with her male supervisor, states the lawsuit document. The male supervisor was found by police to have brought butt plugs and lubricant on the business trip. Another employee confirmed that the deceased may have been subject to other sexual harassment at work before her death. The document states that before her death, male co-workers were alleged to be passing around nude pictures of the deceased during a holiday party.
The lawsuit document also talks about discrimination in salary pay, compensations against women, assigning women to less opportunity levels & roles and more. According to the filed lawsuit, women were being awarded lesser incentive pays and advancement opportunities as compared to their male counterparts.
The female employees from the World of Warcraft team noted that male employees & supervisors would hit on them, make derogatory comments about rape, and engage in demeaning behavior, says the lawsuit document.
The female applicants were allegedly hired based on their looks. An employee also noted that women who weren’t “huge gamers” or “core gamers” and not into the “party scene” were excluded and treated as outsiders.
