Steam Deck UI will replace Steam’s Big Picture mode confirms Valve employee

A new thread recently posted in a Steam group about Big Picture mode talked about the possibility of Steam Deck’s new UI replacing the existing Big Picture mode UI.

A representative of Valve confirmed that they are working on replacing the Big Picture UI with the new UI from Steam Deck. He also mentioned that they don’t have an ETA(Estimated time of arrival) on this. So don’t expect it to happen anytime soon.

The new Steam Deck UI apparently is the same as the React UI on Steam desktop client, according to Pavel Djundik, a popular dataminer and creator of SteamDB. Pavel also mentioned concern about the integration of Steam Store & community pages in both the Steam Deck and Big Picture.

The current Big Picture mode UI is quite outdated and has many features missing. For instance, many users have issues with using Steam chat while in Big Picture mode.
