HyperX QuadCast Gaming Microphone Review : In Pics
With the growing popularity of live streaming and podcasting we are now seeing extremely good quality AV equipment which have become a preferred choice of content creators and gamers all over the world. Early this year HyperX launched an eye catching microphone which was a first one from its stable of highly competitive gaming equipments. It is priced at INR 14,900 though Amazon India has a non-functional listing of the product.

The red and black colour combination is definitely a refreshing change from the usual black coloured mics. The microphone is over 8 inches long with the quick gain control at the bottom.
The QuadCast comes with a stand featuring anti-vibration shock mount, quick gain control to adjust mic sensitivity and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There are four selectable polar patterns right above the hinge of the stand. One can chose between stereo, omnidirectional, cardioid or bidirectional as per the broadcast setup. Gamers should keep the microphone at omnidirectional mode to avoid any loss of sound.
The Maximum power output of the headphone is 7mW, with Impedance of 32 Ω & a frequency response ranging between 20Hz – 20kHz. The overall design & features of this microphone is definitely distinct & amongst the best in the microphone market.
It’s a lightweight microphone weighing only 710 gms with a metallic body and touch sensitive mute button at the top. You will be able to tell whether the mic is on or off by looking at the lighting behind the grill. When the mic is on, it glows red.
There are elastic bands on all the sides of the microphone which helps in absorbing some minor vibrations. We found the sound output to be of extremely good quality however while playing action games like PUBG, the keystrokes could be heard which can easily distract some users.
Overall the microphone is of very high quality and a must have for professional gamers and podcasters. The microphone is compatible with PC, PS4, and Mac. We tested the microphone on both PC & Mac and the recordings were very clear.
