God of War creator Sony Santa Monica is working on a new unannounced fantasy-based game
The creators of God of War, Sony Santa Monica Studio could be working on a new unannounced fantasy game according to a job listing posted by the company on the official website.
The listing is for Sr Character Concept Artist. “We are seeking an experienced Senior Character Concept Artist for the development of a new unannounced title”. The listing says.
The job requirement says that the person should be able to “develop and maintain strong creative and collaborative partnerships across subject areas to help further develop the in-game characters, visual language, and rule sets for fantasy-based worlds.”
The studio is looking for someone who can design & render “realistic believable fantasy-based characters, creatures, and props”.
This “fantasy-based game” could be a AAA title as the requirement clearly mentions that the individual should have “minimum 3 years of AAA video game platform experience”.
The first thing that comes to mind is that could this “fantasy-based game” be the next installment in the God of War franchise? Could it be ‘God of War: Ragnarok’?
Well, it could be, but the studio could be working on multiple titles and there’s a possibility that the listing is not for working on God of War: Ragnarok. Why? Because the listing mentions that it is for “a new unannounced title”, and God of War’s next installment (also called God of War: Ragnarok) although still untitled has already been announced.
