WWE 2K22 announced at WrestleMania 37

WWE 2K22 has been announced. WWE officially announced WWE 2K22 during the WrestleMania 37 live event in Tampa, Florida.

Here’s the released announcement video:

Character models for WWE superstars Rey Mysterio and Cesaro appear in the announcement video.

The game video footage says “GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE CAPTURED FROM A WORK-IN-PROGRESS BUILD” meaning the game is still in development.

Judging by the announcement video, the graphics look realistic. Let’s hope they are just as good in the game’s final build. The video shows Rey Mysterio performing his popular finisher move ‘619’ on Cesaro. The announcement video is rather short and doesn’t reveal much about the game, we might see a more in-depth game trailer as the game development completes.

Going with the tagline ‘It hits different.’, WWE 2K22 is the latest entry in the WWE wrestling games franchise by 2K. It’s predecessor, WWE 2K21 was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and criticism received on WWE 2K20.

There is no official news about WWE 2K22 release just yet and the announcement video only says ”Coming Soon”, but the game is expected to come out by the end of 2021. Also it is likely that you will see the game launch on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on day one.
