As reported by Deadline popular actor Pedro Pascal is set to star alongside Bella Ramsey in The Last of Us series.
The Last of Us is a popular AAA video game developed by Naught Dog and published by Sony. HBO is currently working on a series adaptation of the game.
Pascal is set to play the role of Joel, the main protagonist of The Last of Us 1 who later becomes a ruthless and cynical smuggler tasked with smuggling & protecting Ellie(played by Bella Ramsey), another protagonist from The Last of Us video game series.
“Stoked to have Pedro aboard our show!”, said Neil Druckmann, Writer/Creative Director for The Last of Us & Co-President, Naughty Dog.
Pascal is a popular actor who has starred in some of the biggest hit series like Narcos, The Mandalorian and more.
Also, both Pascal & Ramsey have starred in HBO’s Game of Thrones series. Pascal played the role of Oberyn Martell in Season 4 and Ramsey played Lyanna Mormont who’s a recurring character across multiple seasons. While they didn’t share any screen time together, it will still be interesting for the Game of Thrones fans to see the two stars together in The Last of Us adaptation.
The series will be co-produced with Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Naughty Dog and more.”Changes that we’re making are designed to fill things out and expand, not to undo, but rather to enhance”, said Craig Mazin when talking about the series back in 2020.
