Mobile gaming streamer Turnip secures $1.63M seed investment led by Elevation Capital
Mobile Gaming streamer, Turnip announced that they had bagged $1.63 million (around Rs 12 crore) in a seed round of funding led by Elevation Capital. Moreover, Better Capital, an early-stage venture firm that develops and invests in inventive ideas and teams, also got engaged in the seed round.
About Turnip
Turnip was founded in April 2020 by Pooja Dubey and Aditya Sharma, (Alumni of IIT Guwahati). Before launching Turnip, Pooja Dubey had had earlier co-founded online fashion rental platform Blinge. She is also associated with venture capital-backed companies Razorpay and CureFit, while Aditya Sharma has co-founded GrabonRent and had previously worked at Hewlett-Packard.
Turnip is a 12-member team with its members been previously associated with top-notch companies like Razorpay, Curefit, Google, Spotify, Flipkart, Rivigo, Paytm and many more.
The Game live streaming and community platform helps the creators stream on streaming platforms like YouTube, Twitch and engage and curate the interactive experience, bolster, and monetize their engagement.
In a press release, Pooja Dubey, Co-founder, Turnip, said, “The advent of the powerful smartphone and cheap data rates have pushed Gaming into the spotlight. Whether it’s 12-year-old learning to play chess, an Uber driver expressing his love for PubG, or working professionals bragging about their Among Us wins – the love for Gaming knows no bounds.”
