Microsoft’s real-world AR-based sandbox game ‘Minecraft Earth‘ is nearing its end. On January 5th, 2021, the Minecraft team tweeted about the game’s shutting down in June 2021. It informed the players about the final update and also thanked the entire Minecraft Earth community.

COVID-19 has undoubtedly brought about unprecedented changes in the lives of many. It has affected ‘Minecraft Earth‘ too. The gameplay of ‘Minecraft Earth‘ includes collaborative play and free movement. The current pandemic situation has made both of these quite impossible.

Microsoft will officially shut down the ‘Minecraft Earth servers on June 30th. All data will be removed on July 1st. Post this date; players will no longer be able to download the game from app marketplaces. Mojang Studious, the game developer, held the COVID- 19 Pandemic responsible for such a premature end of the game.

Mojang Studious had previously modified and adjusted the game for it to adapt to the changes brought about by the PANDEMIC. The Minecraft team had introduced alterations to make it easy for the players to play the game from their homes’ comfort. However, those adjustments were not sufficient.

The publishers have now decided to redistribute their resources to offer more value to all the community members of ‘Minecraft Earth.’ The Minecraft team has released the ultimate update. It has made the game mechanics much faster and eliminated all in-app purchases. While leaving the world of online gaming, ‘Minecraft Earth’ will be uniquely thanking all its users.

Players who have purchased in the game earlier will receive a copy of the new Minecraft Bedrock version, absolutely free! Players who have unused paid rubies in the game will receive Minecoins to redeem in the Minecraft prosper marketplace.

Minecraft Earth‘ was developed along the lines of the much loved ‘Pokemon Go.’ The game is coming to an end just within eight months after its initial launch.  So, for all the ‘Minecraft Earth‘ fanatics out there, you have around a few weeks to play your favorite online video game and to make the most out of it!
