Velocity Gaming becomes the first ever Valorant Agni Series Champions

Velocity Gaming, the winners of Valorant Agni Series tournament hosted by NODWIN Gaming and powered by MSI

Yes, Team Velocity Gaming have won yet another tournament, this time the Valorant Agni Series tournament

The Valorant Agni Series tournament was hosted by NODWIN Gaming in association with MSI. The tournament featured 256 teams and a total prize pool of ₹ 425,000. The tournament was divided into 4 qualifiers out of which 4 teams qualified for the Grand Finale showdown.

The Grand Finale of Agni Series happening on November 2, was delayed to November 4 due to a scheduled game patch for the game. On November 4 the Grand Finale started with four teams, each of which were qualified from the four qualifiers.

The Semi Finals saw Team Velocity Gaming competing against Team Global Esports and Team Reckoning Esports(former Nezuko Gaming team) competing against God Particles.

Before we get to the grand finals, let’s briefly hover over the details of both  the semi finals,

SEMI FINAL #1:

Map 1(Haven):

Team Reckoning Esports won with a 13-9 score.

Map 2(Ascent):

Team Reckoning Esports won with a 13-7 score.

Team Reckoning Esports qualified for the finals after taking a 2-0 semi-finals victory over God Particles in the bo3 matchup.

SEMI FINAL #2:

On the other side of things we saw a nail biting matchup between Global Esports and Velocity Gaming.

Map 1(Haven):

Map 1 was too close for comfort for both the teams as we went to overtime where Global Esports took the map 14-12 after a incredible 1 v 2 clutch by SkRossi.

All of a sudden Team Velocity Gaming, a team who has time and time closed out grand finals of every tournament convincingly started looking mortal.

Map 2(Ascent):

Team Velocity Gaming took us to map 3 by winning Ascent 13-6.

Map 3(Bind):

Team Velocity Gaming won Bind 13-7.

Velocity Gaming qualified for the finals after defeating Team Global Esports with a 2-1 score in the bo3 matchup.

The Grand Final match saw the underdogs from Reckoning Esports go head-to-head against the veterans from Velocity Gaming.

Grand Finals:

The grand finals was also a bo3 matchup with map 1 being Ascent, map 2 being Split and map 3 being Bind.

Grand Final Map 1:

In Ascent i.e. map 1 we saw Team Velocity Gaming taking the early lead by winning the first two round, but Reckoning Esports quickly answered back with one of their own. Then Velocity Gaming went on to win a string of rounds eventually finishing the half 9-3.

Overall the first half was pretty one sided with Team velocity Gaming picking up the majority of the rounds. But it was time for the second half and for Reckoning Esports to win some rounds.

In the second half Reckoning Esports managed to make a comeback and made it look somewhat close.

In the end Team Velocity Gaming won the map 13-9.

Grand Final Map 2:

Then on Split i.e. map 2, Team Reckoning took the pistol round but Velocity Gaming immediately answered back taking round 2 and going onto a 4-1 lead. At the end of the half Team Velocity Gaming had the lead 9-3.

In the second half, Team Reckoning Esports again managed to take the pistol and the following round.

At the end Team Velocity Gaming won the map 13-5, taking the series with a 2-0 win against Team Reckoning Esports.

And, that’s how Team Velocity Gaming won the Valorant Agni Series taking the first place finish and first place prize of 150,000.

Team Reckoning Esports had a strong showing throughout the tournament and finished second, taking the second place prize of ₹75,000.

Up until now, Velocity Gaming have won every tournament they have participated in, making them one of the best teams in India and in the Asian region.

India has now become one of the top countries for Valorant Esports in Asia with strong teams like Velocity Gaming, Global Esports, Reckoning Esports, Team Tamilas, Noble Esports, and more.
